Plz solve me the following, with elaborate explanations if required (b’coz of the lack of diagrams).

1) Determine the proper length of a rod if in the laboratory frame of reference its velocity is v = c/2, the length l = 1m, and the angle between the rod and its direction of motion is θ = 45°.

Ans: l’ = l √ {(1- v²sin² θ/c²) / (1 - v²/c²)} = 1.08m

Apparently this was a topic of discussion on the radio. My husband asked me this, and I honestly don't know. He says that logically, because there are more people on earth, and because the earth has been struck by meteorites that the earth should be heavier; if so the additional mass would increase the gravity of the earth.

We all know that in light can be treated as particles or waves.

We all also know in wave mechanics, a matter can also be treated as a wave. That is, an object, for some reason I do not know, can become a wave.

If that is the case, can there be another universe existing with us, in the same space, but in a different frequency? The universe will be an existence but in a different frequency. Likewise, can there be many universes all existing in the same sport, but all in many freqencies? After all, we are only waves.

hi,

i am basically a computer student, but im always curious about physics and its concepts...

during my lunch i was just thinking what difference would it make if something like ( electron or for that matter some object say a plane ) traveled at the speed of light or even more ie., 3 * 10^^8 meters/second. will any laws of physics change from the normal situation which we are in and this DIFFERENT SITUATION.

please help me out in understanding this physics concept...
