A 65 kg swimmer jumps off a 10m tower.
A. Find the swimmer's velocity on hitting the water. (I got this because I understood this question. It came out to 14m/s)
B. The Swimmer comes to a stop 2.0m below the surface. Find the net force exerted by the water.

I tried this, Vi=14m/s, Vf=0, d=12m, I thought about using Vf^2=Vi^2+2ad where 0=(14m/s)^2+ (2(a)(12m) How can I rearrange the problem so that I can solve for a? Or am I using the wrong formula???

The world record for free hen's egg throwing is 96.90 m, set in 1981. Assuming no air resistance, what would have been the (a) throwing speed; (b) elevation angle; (c) maximum height; (d) time of flight?
(Assume acceleration due to gravity = 10m/s/s)
This question is possible to answer!!!
Please show how you got the question..this would be a great help to me!!
And best of all...best answer gets 10 points!!!!

ok...i understand what everyone is saying...but in the test book these are the answers given...

Determine a)the tension in the horizontal mass-less cable and b)the vertical and horizontal components of the force exerted by the pivot A on the aluminum pole. I managed to find a picture of the same problem but with different values: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=128765607&imageID=1460004546
