Both starting from the same lamp post, a motorbike accelerates constantly at twice the value of the constant acceleration of a tricycle. by the time that the motorbike is already 4.0 meters away from the lamp post, how far is the tricycle from the post?

Starting from zero speed, s = ½ft², where s = distance, f = acceleration and t = time.

As the time is the same for motorbike and tricycle, we can say that s is proportional to f, therefore s for the tricycle is 4 x 0.5 = 2 metres.
