I cant figure out this question on average speed.

I know average speed is d2-d1/t2-t1.

I have d2 being 1.5km and d1 being .8km
My times are .017hr and .012hr.

I keep getting 140 for my average speed which makes no sense cuz I had 85km/hr and 67km/hr to begin with.

The orginal question was an antelope can run 1.5km with an average speed of 85km/hr and then it ran .8km with an average speed of 67 km/hr.

Find the average speed during its whole run - I figured the time to be 1.74 min.

Anyways can you help me figure out why I'm getting 140km/hr for my average speed??

i've just started college and on a whim i decided to add physics to my courses even though i hated it at g.c.s.e. level. i nly did it to become a full time student and get payed to go to college.

ive just read some of the questions in this section and i felt like i was reading alien!! can someone give me some simple physics facts and tips to help me pass this a-level??

A butcher is holding a string of chipolata sausages over a set of weighing scales, the lowest one being just above the scales.

A customer asks for all the sausages and the butcher says that he will let go of the top of the string, dropping the sausages into the scales, and he will only charge the customer for half of the highest reading on the scales (i.e. the weight shown by the scales will go up and up as more sausages fall in, and the butcher will charge for half of the maximum reading). The customer agrees.

Is the customer overpaying or underpaying, and by what percentage?

Feynman proposed a path integral formulation of quantum mechanics based upon the principle of least action.

His postulates were:
1. The probability for any fundamental event is given by the absolute square of a complex amplitude.
2. The amplitude for some event is given by adding together all the histories which include that event.
3. The amplitude a certain history contributes is proportional to
exp((i / hCross) * action of that history )

My question is this - How did Feynman come up with his third postulate. Did he derive it? If so, how?

What explanation can you offer for the fact that practical space vehicles are lauched by multi stage rockets, fired in intervals along the trajectory, rather than by a single rocket ignited at the earth's surface?

Why is it incorrect to call g(=9.8ms^-2) ,which is acceleration due to free fall, to be "gravity"?

"timetravel" f.e.to 1945 would mean:regrouping matter(atoms,strings...name it whatever you prefer)back as "it was" at that time.So in my opinion "time" is the RELATION of matter."Relation"as they exist in maths,no real things. So to me "the fourth dimension"(so thrilling in science fiction) does'nt really exist.Of course,in maths we can create fourth, fifth etc dimensions and work very well with them.I have always been frustrated with Einstein's(Onestone hihi)"Time is relative". Marcel says:"time is a relation".It may seem only a symantic problem but as for me it is a filosofical (or even more)one.
