Fall from a tree? Well, it's because they're ripe. Fruit is used by the tree as a starter food source for the seeds inside, so when it becomes ripe the tree will detach it and when you shake the tree or the wind blows it knocks the fruit loose.

I noticed you put this in the physics category, so if you're looking for a physics answer, it would be gravity.

Because of law of inertia.
Newton's second law states that, a body will continue to be in it's state of rest,in a straight line, unless compelled upon by some applied unbalanced force to change it's state of rest.
The ripe fruits are in the state of rest. When, branches are moved, the fruits are not moved, hence, due to it's state of rest, it falls to the ground. It's only the ripe one's because, they r heavy, and their stem is thin, compared to their size. Hence, only the ripe one's fall to the ground, when branches are gently moved.
