I have read that from an arbitary central point, as in the Big Bang theory, whole Galaxies ,on the very limit of our percepcion, are in fact receding at close to light speed after accellerating outwards since the universe began, as mass would become infinite, how could it be possible for any increase in velocity to occur?

I'm not sure if there is even enough information here to answer the questions, as its been a while since i've studied physics.

I don't understand something...can someone clear this for me?

so, what galileo did...He dropped 2 objects of different masses which fell down at the same time, which proved that the time of descent was independent of their masses.

But, in that experiment, shouldn't air resistance have slowed down the lighter object because of friction? help!

How large of an E.M.P. can we generate without the nuclear explosion. (N.N.E.M.P.) Non nuclear electromagnetic pulse And does anybody have any good websites as to where I can find this information. I would like to know also if it is possible to generate a very small E.M.P. say like at home. I am very interested in any input that you guys can give me. P.S. not homework just curiosity

bonded end-to-end to make a single bar. The densities are 4.3 g/cm^3 and 6.3 g/cm^3. What length of the lighter-density part of the bar is needed if the total mass is 13103 g? Answer in units of cm.

I'm not even sure where to begin(but I have filled four pages...and about 5 hours trying).....so far I have figured the volume as 2463.00864 (I THINK that's correct). It seems to me that you would have to figure a percent or a portion of each of the densities and possibly set it up in an equation that is equal to 13103 g, but I can't figure out how to get what percent or portion of each individual density to figure this, or if that is even the correct way to figure it.
THANK YOU for any and all help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A boat of 45kg and length 3m is floating in a still frictionless water. A dog of 15kg walks from the bow to the stern. Find the distance through which the boat gets displaced.

The answer would be 0.75m .....I just can't find out how.

Ben Franklin and his devotees have been selling lightning rods for decades. Please tell me as to how a one inch stranded alluminum cable can safely conduct millions of amperes of current [in a lightning bolt] to a ground rod connected to a lightning rod fastened to the ridgeline of a standard frame dwelling?
I maintain that it cannot!
I maintain that the lightning rod is designed to
{ disperse, dispense, discharge, emanate, release, drain-off } static electrical charges to the overhead clouds, thereby equalizing the potential difference between storm clouds and the surface of the earth in a localized area. When this balance exists, there is much less chance of a discharge in both directions between earth and clouds.
If you disagree, please state your case in this matter. I'll listen:
