He didn't. His brain is being kept alive in an old maytag upright freezer in Akron. Some of his latest design projects include the Internet, the shopping mall concept, and the fast food drive through. Some scientists are beginning to suspect his brain may be suffering from freezer burn.

I guess it was 1955.. although I thought it much more recent.. must be mixed up on the famous science dudes..
Yeah.. Spontaneous combustion I believe. He was developping some heavy theories on the Big bang and thought he'd try them out..
