ive just read some of the questions in this section and i felt like i was reading alien!! can someone give me some simple physics facts and tips to help me pass this a-level??

Just try to culture an interest in the subject, a lot of it is mathematical so get some maths help to understand the calculations (more complicated at this level). Just keep reading physics textbooks over and over again, and do lots of questions.

Tip about taking physics. For some people it comes naturally in the beginning or at the end. Right now it is a challenge to you. As with any class, how are you able to handle a challenge? Throughout your life you will be presented with tasks that you hate, but stepping up to the plate makes you a well rounded person, which employers drool over. This is all about how you deal with the challenge. Physics is extremely beneficial to everyone although nobody wants to admit it. Stay with it and the best advice I could give is to visualize the problems and principles. Many people who fail physics expect to find simple answers, but never visualize them to see if they make sense. For example, could a peron running around a track run at a speed of 50 m/s? Of course not, that would mean that they could run the 100 m dash is a record time of 2 seconds. Visualize 50 meter sticks laid out and covering that distance in 2 seconds. Another would be the time for a marble to fall off a tabletop being 4.5 seconds. Well if you see it happening, you would count to 1 and realize that 4.5 seconds is ridiculous and 0.45 is more realistic. I teach physics and if you need any help - teachphysics28 at aol

Whim? I remember physics as being second to organic chemistry on the difficult scale. I think the only tip I can give you is to RUN to change this one. There are a lot of interesting things one will learn in the class, but they require a lot of hard work for most of us.
Whim, good grief.

oh god, you've gotten yourself in a mess. personally, physics was the worst course i ever took in high school, i barely passed it with a D+. thats why i made up my mind to never take it again in college...but if you can't drop the class, then study hard. physics requires some good math skills (such as the factor label method), so make sure you brush up on those. read the chapter in your textbook both before and after you attend the lecture at college. and you can also get a tutor from college, they can be very helpful at times. also, ask questions in class if you dont understand something! those professors are getting paid to teach you.

i sucked at chemistry in high school too, (not a science person) but im taking it now in college since it's one of the requirements for nursing. i'm working hard and basically teaching it to myself- and now it doesn't seem as terrible as it did in high school. remember, nothing is hard if you set your mind to it.

good luck :)

Drop Physics and add Basket weaving, Personal Growth, or Business Math.

For physics there are no simple tricks. You have to go deep to understand physics. If you feel uncomfortable with the subject, better change it immediately.

sorry i don't know much about physics. but isn't it obvious what comes up must come down? and stuff like that. i am really good in science though!
