A U-shaped tube, open to the air on both ends, contains mercury. Water is poured into the left arm until the water column is 16.2 deep.
How far upward from its initial position does the mercury in the right arm rise?

Any Help Would Be Appreciated Thx!

In my last question you've all answered something similar to'the area the light isn't on would be cooler.'But then again, light is another form of energy as warmth. And although they get combined quite a lot, that wouldn't explain why the shadows aren't warm, just why they're dark...

Firstly, i mark the water level of the swimming pool.
Then, I toss the iron anchor over...

So, does the water level rise or fall?
And does it matter if the anchor reaches the bottom? would there be a difference?

i havent seen an equation like the one i came up with before and i think that my equation is true.

with my equation i can find the distance between the nucleus of the atom to the electron, the only variable that i need to know is the energy in a certain orbital. (like the work function or the ionization energy)

please i need your opinion. i need to know if you have ever heard of something like that?

P.S is not the bohr planetary model of the atom.

I am not going to tell you the equation because probably it is unique and I want to get the credit for it lol.

I've been having an ongoing argument with a friend for a few days now. He thinks that if there were a hole from one side of the Earth to the other going straight through the core (bear in mind that we are pretending that it's possible to dig such a tunnel) that you could jump into it and then pop out the other side.

My belief is that since Earth's centre of gravity would be strongest right in the core, you wouldn't pop out the other side, but rather you would become stuck in the middle, at the core. At the core, gravity would act very strongly on you going in either direction towards the end of the tunnel, and thus you would become trapped, unable to move either direction.

So, my question is, am I right? Or is my friend right?
