No one has changed the definition of physical science that I am aware of, and I'm a physicist. Sounds like someone is trying to slip you an epistemological mickey.

Hi. Where did you hear that? Physical science is defined, still, as "Any of the sciences, such as physics, chemistry, astronomy, and geology, that analyze the nature and properties of energy and nonliving matter."
