i am goin to make a circuit demonstrating electric wind. in the experiment, i have to connect a wire to a power source. the other end of the wire is allowed to discharge slowly into the air. If my current is abt 0.5 A, since my resistance is very high, what voltage will i get. What do i do to increase it?

I'm making a science project abt electric wind and need high voltages, something like 2000 volts. How do i get such high voltages? by the way, there is really high resistance, so should that help? what power source and current should i use?

Im thinking about accretionary discs here, that as they gain mass they increase in heat and gravitational force ultimately imploding to form a sun, which over time expands and explodes losing mass. Logic suggest if i eat cream cakes and tikka massala with fried rice for a while, i too could lose mass.

Since all life on this planet requires some amount of sunlight somewhere in its food chain, I'd like to understand what it is about sunlight that gives this "life energy", and why it's not present in other kinds of light. Is all light not the same?

Imagine you are standing in front of a mirror, facing it. Raise your left hand. Raise your right hand. Look at your reflection. When you raise your left hand your reflection raises what appears to be his right hand. But when you tilt your head up, your reflection does too, and does not appear to tilt his/her head down. Why is it that the mirror appears to reverse left and right, but not up and down?

I've heard that the equations of string theory are beyond our current mathimatical understanding. Can some one tell me what's so hard about them or maybe point me to someplace that i can see the equations?

I am postulating that inertial force created by the accelerated expansion of the universe creates what we observe as gravitation waves. If I could somehow relate the gravitational constant of the universe to the inertial force resulting from the accelerated expansion of the universe that could go a long way to proving or disproving my conjecture. The problem is I don’t have nearly the level of mathematics needed to solve this question. Can you help me?

Why are the lines of force between the north and south pole of a magnet curved? (eg with iron filings...)

Without referrng to Maxwell's equations (which is just a description), is there a fundamental known reason for this?

Does this relate to relativity or space curvature?

Had deja vu. Before something even happens, you could swear you've seen it before. I seem to have this once in a while. I wish I saw some lottery numbers or something, or who wins the World Series.

First I'll start with my theory "When traveling to the past, the present you left cannot be changed because any action you take in the past would have already altered your present before you go to the past." Basically my theory states that you cannot cause what they call a time paradox because everything up until the point you arrived in the past and the present you left already happened before you left. Here is an example in case you dont understand. Lets say I grew up in a world without ever knowing Hitler existed. I make a time machine and go back into the past. Way back when Hitler was just a child. I miscalculate where I want to appear in the past and bam land my time machine right on top of Hitler killing him. To me he was just a poor kid in the wrong place at the wrong time. Any decision I make by choice will alter nothing because any choice I make has already been made. In my opinion it is more logical that the famous time paradox theory.Make sense?

For all those UFO buffs. Those who don't believe, please keep your peace.

Have you ever noticed most if not all of the news reports on UFOs involved only flying saucers? This is contrary to what is in the movies these days, which dwells on stories of intergalactic spacecrafts, space cuisers or spacewar birds, etc.

The logic is that if there are a number of extra terrestrial civilisations out there, then there should be different types of spacecrafts, just like what is propogated in the movies. Yet, it seems we see only flying saucers.......

Do you believe there is something special about flying saucers? Why is it most extra terrestrials used flying saucers and not other types of spacecrafts?
