Im thinking about accretionary discs here, that as they gain mass they increase in heat and gravitational force ultimately imploding to form a sun, which over time expands and explodes losing mass. Logic suggest if i eat cream cakes and tikka massala with fried rice for a while, i too could lose mass.

Yes, of course! Provided the following conditions are met:

1. you've got the elements necessary for stardom
2. you're good at gathering dust and clouds
3. you're willing to implode in the gruesome Hayashi phase
4. you're equally willing to explode and give the hard-earned mass away
5. you have 10 million years to be a protostar and another 20 million years to join the Main Sequence, assuming you are average-sized like the sun

I'm not sure about cakes and stuff though, they may not hold out in the process long enough for you to contract... I know because I have that problem, I'm just trying to gain weight!

Anyway, have fun! Shine brightly on me when you do make it!
