i took a practice exam and came across something im not familier with.....what does (3)P(3) mean? I mean i kno the answer is 3! but i wanna kno how to get that number

the numbers in the parenthensis are subnumbers.......i dont kno how to show them w/o using HTML

How do you differentiate Sin[x^2]?
i.e. NOT (Sin[x])^2, but with the square operator actually part of the argument of sine.

The given function is f(x) = -3x(squared) + 12x + p.
- At which p does point (p, 14) lie on the graph of f?

The subject is quadratic relationships. I know that I either have to use the quadratic formula in some way, but I don't know how, as p is also in the x and y coordinates.

And please, no stupid comments like ' do you homework yourself '. It's study : )
