Can anyone help me graph this and in a way explain to me how it is the equation my teacher gave me is:
/x/ + /y/ = 1 ; // is the absolute value. My teacher does not give me any numbers to plug in for x or y but she does suggest something about four, I believe it has to do with the plus and minus but I am not entirely sure. Please help thanks

Expand (1+x+2x^2)^6 in ascending powers of x upto and including x^3

I have tried to go around this problem by

expanding (1+y)^6

This gives me 1 + 6y + 15y^2 + 20y^3 +15y^4 +

6y^5 + y^6

I then substitute x + 2x^2 into the expansion

as y. I do this upto 20y^3

This gives 1 + 6x + 12x^2 + 15x^2 + 60x^4 +

20x^3 + 160x^6

I then simplify this to give my final answer of

1 + 6x + 27x^2 + 20x^3

I belive this is correct but online binomial

expansion calculators say the answer should be

1 + 6x + 27x^2 + 80x^3

I dont understand why i am not getting 80x^3

Please help?

The preportions are simply those of a square attatched to half of another congruent square, divided diagonally. The puzzle is to cut the figure into four pieces which are congruent in nature.

I dont have the figure but it is a trapezoid. Pretend there is a 4x4 square and a right triangle with a base of 4 and height of 4. So overall, the figure has a 8 base, 4 height, 4 across on top, and a diagonal connecting to the base.

Ok so there is two types of special angles were working with the 30-60-90 Triangle and 45-45-90 triangle so my question is and were at the origin .So if i got 30 degrees how would i know how to find the value of x and y coordinates (is there anyway or will i have to remember the chart ?) like i see in my book that for a 45 degree angle the x= sq.rt of 2 and y= sq.rt of 2 will i have to remember these mentally or is there some way to calculate to get x and y from 45 degrees?

ok here is the problem:

[0 -6] _ [5 2] _ [2 -26] = [3 25]
[1 2] [4 3]X [3 -18] [2 24]

The capital X is the matrix that I need solved. The parenthesis about each other represents a 2x2 matrix. Sorry this is the best I could put it and it moves the bottom row over.
