I want to work in the field of Bionics when i get older. I hope to create working artificial limbs controlled by the brain and cochlear implants, etc.

What type of college degree would i need? I have done some research, but the answers were vague, ranging from chemical, mechanical, biological, and biomedical engineering degrees.

I was hoping someone would be able to give me a more definitive answer. Thanks!

I don't really understand it but find it interesting. I am an engineer so if someone is a little scientific I won't burst into tears, but my knowledge of environmental science is somewhat minimal. I work for a municipality.

I know that by combining harmonic sinusoids together we can get a square wave. But i want to know whether we can split a square wave into its harmonic components. Its hard for me to believe a square wave(Lets say its being produced by a Battery Switched On & Off continuously) will contain sine waves.

When using very high voltage (>10,000 V) and very low current, how might changes in voltage affect the maximum arc length produced between two terminals?

I have tennis elbow and would like to try some magnetic therapy on it. I have a bunch of small but powerful refrigerator magnets that I would like to wrap against the elbow, but I'm not sure how to space them or which side makes contact with the skin. Is it the side that sticks to the fridge door or the one that is repelled?

thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light here..

We've seen lots of "debunkers" call names. Any chump can do that. Don't get us wrong; orcs LOVE to call names and treat people like garbage. We also hate lazy slugs though, so shut your trap if you can't think with any more sophistication than your average troll!

I need to clear up some confusion I have about 6-sigma.
The teachings say that 6-sigma means that in a million opportunities there will only be 3.4 mistakes or "missed opportunties" IF you have achieved 99.997% Perfection.
Or something to that nature.
The concept is based on six standard deviations from the population mean. I'm assuming it means that the sample group's mean is six devations from that population mean.
But what I'm confused about is ....."WHAT POPULATION?"

IF a company is building electric motors. They want to acheive an error of 3.4 per million. I'm assuming that 3.4 is the number of individuals represented by the area under the bell-curve out in the extreme fringes of the bell-curve (out in the six sigmas away from the mean).

OKay, I can comprehend population curves (bell-curves ) in terms of animals, plants, human behavior and other human traits, but HOW DOES THE BELL CURVE APPLY TO MANUFACTURING?
6-Sigma was created by Motorolla, explain please!!

I purchased a window a/c unit not realizing it until I got it home. It is a 12,000 btu bad boy and I got it on sale, so I kinda don't want to return it. But I inspected some through the wall units and I don't see much difference.

If I remove the housing on the window a/c and stick it in the wall, that should work properly, right? What do you think?
