One electronic ckt. have one relay of 12v,200 ohm.and one IC ckt, operated by 12v, in its construction.
Then the questions are----

1) Is it possible to provide 12v regulated power supply to both IC and Relay coilusing single power supply with single regulator IC i.e. 4812..

(2) if it is possible , what are the ratings of transformer which i will have to used...

I want to do some AC experiments at 15 to 30 kv, not much power, interested in the onset of arcing. Dont mind if a fuse blows when it arcs. Can you suggest something cheap? I am of the impression that old microwave ovens have a transformer, do you know its output ratio? The ratio of nbr of windings one side to the other? Does it make sense to Use a number of them wired high side to next low side to get up to this ratio?

Better yet, what do you suggest?

If I have a device like a laptop computer that can work both in the US( 120V) and in Europe (220-240V), will the batteries charge faster in Europe due to higher voltage? Or is there some sort of difference in amperage so the same number of electrons/watts are reaching the device in the same amount of time?
