how do you know it won't hurt anyone...and if it does?? .... what if it goes through their heart and maybe kills them.... what are you gonna tell the judge before your sentencing?

You need more components than just a 9-volt battery and a transformer. Since transformers work on the principle of alternating magnetic fields, a DC (direct current) source will not work. An AC (alternating current) source is the only way to increase/decrease voltage by means of a transformer. Of course, a DC source could be converted to a pulse-DC supply, which is way beyond the scope of your question. All in all, it cannot work with what you have asked.

I agree with C look out to not get any body hurt. Jokes don't count much with me. But The electricians hand book says the dangerous current is 100 to 200 ma through the heart. less than 100 and he may hurt u. more than 200 ma causes serious burns but seldom death .

Boys, I am an electrician. A transformer works by inducing a current from one coil to another for the purpose of changing the voltage higher or lower. It is definitely not a toy. Amusing yourselves by hurting someone else is not funny. Please get a video game.
