A question to seismologist.please.?

Can you anybody clarify this doubt. I read from some books that the frequency of earthquake will vary from 0.5 to 15 Hz. Professor Richer Allen of Berkeley university claims that they can decide the magnitude of earthquake as soon as we senses the primary wave for first 4 seconds. Concept wise it is O.K. Because the larger tectonic plate slip will create lesser frequency and the smaller size of tectonic plate may create higher frequency. But up to what frequency it is dangerous?. Is it possible to decide the magnitude of earthquake by using accelero meter? Please clarify my doubt. In some books they have compared the acceleration with the magnitude of earthquake

Do you think that pluto should have been a planet?

Earlier this week, pluto got demoted to a new category called the "dwarf planets" do you think this is fair? after all, pluto was called a planrt for more than 70 years! and to think that pluto, mickey's dog has been named after the planet and pluto is a lot of people's favorite planet.

Where have all the stars gone?

I remember when I was a kid, I'd lay back in the grass and look to the sky and see stars everywhere, millions of them. I look up now and I'm lucky if I see half a dozen stars. Where did they go? Why isn't the sky loaded with stars that light up the night anymore? Does anybody know?

I got the iron out of the sand, now how do I get the sand out of the iron?

I got some iron fillings out of the sand in my yard, but there are all kinds of little rocks and some sand that keep sticking to my magnet, how do I seperate the iron from all that junk?
