A meteor will never get into the ground as it only exists in space or the upper atmosphere until it burns up. A meteor that gets to earth is called a meteorite.

Yes. But, if it makes it to the ground then is not longer call a meteor but a meteorite. A meteorite is typically a chunk of rock and/or metal. On the ground can easily "survive" for several billion years.

Why not? If it survives the atmospheric entry and the impact with the ground, it can survive like any other rock.

The problem is that its composition may be contaminated by the stuff in the ground. This is probably why you are thinking about this survival stuff. It is not survival as well as keeping it as pristine as possible so it can be studied.

"Survival" implies life. Meteorites are made of inorganic substances. What's to survive?
