These are probably a form of a water bug! You have moisture in your walls and will have to deal with that problem first. Calling an exterminator will be a solution too - however, if you simply pull the tile away (messy job) and find the leak, you should be okay.

I can't even imagine what kind of worms these are??????? But if they are coming from UNDER the wall, that means they are living BEHIND it? Pulling the wall off is a major job!!!!!!!!!!!Go out and buy some kind of good bug spray. Ask the clerk for help determining the best spray to use. When the shower is dry, spray into the part of the wall they are coming out of. I have to wonder if you have any caulk on there? If the seam were caulked, I don't see how anything could crawl out? But in any case they should not be living in there in the first place. So spray then clean and dry the area and caulk! It's not hard top caulk, but it is messy. The thing is to kill the worms! Call Erlich if that doesn't help.

Do you own or are you renting? If renting, get your landlord involved before doing anything to divert liability from you. If you are buying or own your home, the first thing is to determine if you have a leak in your water supply or shower. You can try it yourself but if you are not especially handy, you can make a mess of it real fast and it will cost you more in the long run than hiring a plumber in the beginning. If you are familiar with plumbing or have someone you trust who is, take out the tile or insert in the shower and find the leak and fix it. Determine if there is any rot damage. Then call the exterminator. Then allow the area to dry completely dry and fix any rot damage before re-installing the shower.

You got it...to do it and do it right it is going to take a little time and you won't have use of the shower while this is being done.

Hope you have more than one in your home or have a good friend or family member you can share with. When it happened to us, we had a deluxe camping shower we modified out in our yard - the kids loved it...but we lived way out in the country and saved our used water for flushing toilets when the power went down.

They are flatworms (drain worms/flies). The following source link below may help you. Pour white vinegar slowly to make the larvae slide out from it's hiding place(s), Then use Lemon Joy(R) dish soap over the same area (please read and review forum answers there first). Hope this helps out.

I would hire an exterminator. They are probably living in the walls of your shower. Moisture has gotten in there somewhere. That's gotta suck.
