How does the Greenhouse effect and atmospheric radiation relate to each other? I am still trying to understand the "chemistry" aspect of the greenhouse effect, not just the simple explanation. My teacher says that the GHG effect isn't really "right" in a way (controversies) ... anyone want to explain this to me? I am confused.

Consider the combustion of 1.56 mol of liquid
ethanol (C[2]H[5]OH) to gaseous water and car-
bon dioxide. Calculate the enthalpy change
for this reaction. The pertinent enthalpies of
formation (in kJ/mol) are
Hf H2O = -241.8
Hf CO2 = -393.5
Hf C[2]H[5]OH = -277.7
Answer in units of kJ.

At elevated temperatures, sodium chlorate decomposes to produce sodium chloride and oxygen gas. A 0.8935 g sample of impure sodium chlorate was heated until the production of oxygen gas ceased. The oxygen gas collected over water occupied 57.2 mL at a temperature of 22°C and a pressure of 746 torr. Calculate the mass percent of NaClO3 in the original sample. (At 22°C the vapor pressure of water is 19.8 torr.)

Please explain tooo. THANKS ! :D

To prepare a solution for which you need to know the concentration accurately, you weigh out 4.2079g of sodium chloride and dissolve it in about 40cm3 of water in a beaker. You want to make this up to a final volume of 100cm3 of water, do you:
i) add water up to the 100cm3 line;
ii) transfer the solution into a measuring cylinder and add water up to the 100cm3 line;
iii) transfer the solution into a 100cm3 volumetric flask and add water to the mark;
iv) pipette 60cm3 of water into the solution.
Explain your choice.
