i was wondering if there''ll be any reactions going in between BF3+NaF? since they both contain the same anion, if they do 'exchange anions and cations', wouldnt the product be the same? so is it right to say that as long as the cation/anion of two molecules is the same, no reaction will occur? eg between HCL and H20?

The books example of this really sucks because I can't comprehend it like I could with emprical formulas. I have 2 questions on this Section Review where I have to find Molecular formula so I'll write one of the problems and I'm hoping someone could explain it with the answer so I can do the 2nd one on my own?

If 4.04 g of N combine with 1.46 g O to produce a compound with a formula mass of 108.0 amu, what is the molecular formula of this compound?

Sorry, Chemistry has not been good to me this semester :( Parts I understand and parts I don't so I made sure next semester I'm in Biology because I'm better with memorizing than I am with math and stuff for Chemistry.

I need a bit of help with solving a hydronium ion concentration problem.
I need to find the ion concentration of a solution that's 1.5 molar acetic acid and .20 molar sodium acetate.

If possible, could you explain how you got this answer so I can understand a bit better about how you came to this conclusion. Thanks.

Hydrochloric acid can be produced by reacting silicon tetrachloride with water. Silicon dioxide is also produced.

a. Write the balanced chemical equation for this reaction.
I wasn't sure on this, I actually wanted an example and explanation. I guessed: SiCl4 + H2O --> HCl + SiO2

b. Why would it be incorrect to write an ionic equation for this reaction? (I don't know why it's incorrect)

Basically im confuzzled on how to solve problems that involve Wet Gases and then turning them into dry gases and then asnwering questions about them..

For example they give you:
a 1.6 sample of KClO3 is heated and reacts in thsi way
they give you a reaction
Then they say what is the volume of oxygen collected over water at 26C and 740Torr.....

Like how would u go about doing that...No i am not looking for the answer, simply how to solve it....I kidna wasn't paying attention in class lol
