for my experiment i used this metal disc like object about 2-3 inches in diameter and it was almost shaped like a bowl and i used it to pour mouthwash in so that i could easily soak the filter paper in mouthwash. i can't remember what the name of the metal thing was. Please Answer what was the name of the tool i used.

If you made a cavity in a suitably dense/massive hunk of material, poured in water and sealed it up so that there wasn't any air pockets or any way for the water to move, what would happen when the water reached freezing temperatures? Is the expansion of water a part of the freezing process or a result of it?

There are herbal high pills in the uk containing the follwoing ingredients. Ketones,dicalcium, phosphate, magnesium and sterate. What effect will these have on the body? will there be any negative effects on the heart etc? obviously they are sold over the counter so they are fit to consume but are there any negative effects on the body? or effects people with certain conditions should avoid?

For example:

C3H6
--> comes from the formula CnH2n

This can indicate that it is a ring structure or an alkene. It can be either cyclopropane or propene. How do you know which one it is, given only the molecular formula (C3H6)?

I've not studied chemistry before and get confused when I see diagrams with arrows and elements. Are you able to give me a simple example to work through, explaining the need to balance in the first place. Maybe dissolving salt into water? Something like that would be great. I know water is H2O, salt is CaCl2+ (I think?) or perhaps you have a better example to use?

Hi,
I'm sure you guys are getting tired of my equilibrium questions by now... but here's a last really quick one:
For:
NH4HS (s) <--> NH3 (g) +H2S (g)

If you add more NH4HS (s) to the container, does the partial pressure of NH3 (g):
1- Stay the same because the air is already "saturated" with the NH3 and H2S gas, so that no more of the solid can reach the gaseous state,
or
2- Increase because more NH4HS is trying to reach a gaseous state, separating into more NH3 and H2S gas particles, therefore increasing the partial pressure of NH3 gas in the air?

Thanks in advance!

I'm told that if I were to 'train' a slug to navigate a maze for food for example and then I were to liquidise that slug and feed it to another slug the second slug would know the route.
It's called chemical memory which I believe is real but I'm not sure if this 'fact' is. Anyone know?

is it possible to seperate carbon and oxygen in hot environment before production of CO or CO2 by charging oxygen and carbon ( by electric charge) and then seperate them by electric field? or by using of a another (cheap) matter(S) to react with one of them ( more desirably with carbon) to prevent of production of CO and CO2?

The reaction is C6H12O6 (aq) --> 2C2H5OH (aq) + 2CO2 (g).
Fermentation of 750 mL grape juice (density = 1 g/mL) is allowed to take place in a bottle with a total volume of 825 mL until 12% by volume is ethanol (C2H5OH). If CO2 is soluble in H2O (obeys Henry's Law), what would be the pressure of CO2 inside the wine bottle at 25 degrees C? at 125 degrees C? Use the data given in the problem to calculate the partial pressure of CO2 in the gas phase and the solubility of CO2 in the wine at 25 degress C. The Henry's law constant for CO2 is 3.1 x 10^ -2 mol/L . atm at 25 C with Henry's law in the form C = kP, where C is the concentration of the gas in mol/L.
This question is really confusing..can someone help me please?
