I was taught that the Hot water would freeze faster because it is closer in molecular structure. Check out this: the Mpemba effect in 1969. Not exactly a cut and dry answer here.....

If it was that hot for me, I'd go out to an air conditioned mall during the day, and come back in the evening. Perhaps try putting ice cubes in front of a fan? I try to keep the drapes closed and the lights off, but with the window opened slightly. I soak my t-shirt in cold water and just lay it on my chest, not wearing it. I thought there were laws in certain states regarding excessive heat. If the temperature is above a certain amount, it seems to me the landlord has no choice. Check that out because I had a friend that lived in Nashville that had a similar experience and the Landlords have to provide air conditioning by law, whether it affects their bill or not.

Did you hear about the race between the tortoise and hare? The hare has given the tortoise a head start. Who will win. The argument goes like this. By the time the hare catches up with the tortoise's initial position, it has moved further. When the hare covers this distance, the tortoise inches still further. So not to talk of beating the tortoise, the hare can't even catch up with it! Silly isn't it? Here also hot water freezes faster.

the one with the least amount. cystaliizine matrix will finsih forming here fkirst and bemore stable since there is less water to expand and freeze.

how literally should I receive the question? "Which cools first?" - they both cool as soon the moment they are put in the freezer, but the hot water was already cooling before being put in the freezer.
Now if you wanted to know how quickly each was cooling, the hot water is cooling quicker than the normal water.
If you wanted to know how long it takes for each to get to a certain temperature, for example, the freezing point, the normal water will get there first.
If you put hot water in one freezer and normal water in another identical freezer, the hot water may make the freezer freeze it faster than the normal water in its freezer because of the freezers' temperature sensors. If both containers are put in the same freezer, the hot water will make the freezer freeze faster but it will still freeze the normal water before the hot water container freezes.

Well, the hot one would start cooling down first and faster because of the temperature difference I guess.
But I think the normal water one would be frozen first..

the hot water will freeze first. i think that it has something to do with minerals being heated or something. hot water pipes will freeze before cold ones will...

For som ereason I want to say the hot water will cool faster then the lukewarm water. I remember hearing that before. I would guess it is bacause the process starts up faster and the cooling curve gets going faster. make sense?

The one with hot water cools faster. But both the beakers will reach the temperature of the freezer at the same time.
According to Newtons principle of cooling, the rate of cooling is directly proportional to the excess temperature.
Excess temp = Temp of Surrounding - Temp of Body which is cooling
