Try Sigma-Aldrich Corp., St. Louis, Mo. sigma-aldrich.com They have meters with varying degrees of complexity, controls, and sophistication from $350 to $1415. They have one suited for student labs at $310. And they have some shirt-pocket "checkers" for $30 to $100.

All garden stores should sell the kind that you stick into dirt. Home Depot, Lowes, or a local nursery. But if you live in a big city than look up "hydroponic stores" in your area. These are great and you will find lots of ph testers to choose from. Good Luck!
