1) yes Alpha rays hare the heaviest so they go further in matter than beta rays and especially gamma rays which have no charges and so interact poorly with matter
2) in old devices they were produced by electrons projected on an electrode positive (called anode) . these electrons were slowed down and gave X-rays

4) Yes.It is a property of matter
5) The spectrum is produced by deexcitation of electrons of the atom going from an external shell to an internal shell. In the calculus of the energy corresponding to the lines, the atomic nummbers is important (energy varies as Z^2)
