hi there ,to sintetize sulfuric acid out of sulfure by oxidation you need a good catalizer like O5V2.I were unable to get it ,but I have got a lingot of pure vanadium. Can someone tell me were to buy this product or an easy way to oxide it to its pentoxide.
The sulfuric acid has many uses as a catalicer in many reactions ,I'll use it with comon sense (no bad intentions really).
thanks for the information!!

So basically i accidentaly mixed some chemicals in chem class and i was wonderin wat i had made. It was some NH4 and a little bit of AgNo3 (not sure the concentrations) I ended up with a really strong smell that almost smelled like dry erase board markers and it gave me a headache for little while. We were using phenolpthalene in the NH4 and the AgNO3 turned it from a pink to a cream pinkish color...im not too sure wat it had come out to be though or if it was deadly or anything...i was just curious

I read on Wikipedia:

'Typically, kerosene directly distilled from crude oil requires some treatment, either in a Merox unit or a hydrotreater, to reduce its sulfur content and its corrosiveness.'

Now, that reads to me like distilled crude oil kersosene has some corrosive properties. But that doesn't make sense! It could be a bit of a pain in metal fuel tanks!!!! Please, someone set me straight.
