Vinegar is abundant and cheap because its not in demand as much as Gasoline, so there are two issues:
Is there adequate infrastructure to produce and distribute the fuel and what retrofiting needs to be done to the millions of automobiles to use the fuel

Hi there! You don't need distilled vinegar. Any vinegar is OK. But the best to use is white vinegar. Half vinegar'half water, you can get stains out of carpet. And you can use for cleaning most things. Personally I like to use a commercial cleaner. You can still get herbal ones, but I wouldn't like everything smelling of vinegar. But the best uses for vinegar are as a sunburn remedy(1/2 vin 1/2 water),and cider vinegar ,for treating Athrhitis. Two teaspoons Vin.Honey,water-glassful. But if you have weak stomach it's not a good idea. You can also use vinegar as a hair rinse, and is good for treating head lice. The other use- if you take shower head off and soak it in neat vinegar,it will clean the hard water deposits in the shower head. Good luck!

They may be able to do that already, but the cost may be such that it is too expensive to do with current technology. For example, it may cost $10 to convert enough distilled vinegar into one gallon of diesel or gasoline.
A better thing, that some celebrities, like Daryl Hannah, have done is convert their diesel truck into using old french fry grease/oil from a fast food restaurant (like McDonald's) in place of diesel fuel. The restaurants often donate their used french fry grease for this purpose and the celebrities get a cheap and nearly free fuel source for their converted vehicles.

What substance do you think is in vinegar that you think you can distill and turn into a fuel? No matter how abundant you may think vinegar is, I can say with great certainty that crude oil is much more abundant. I also believe that a gallon of vinegar costs more than a gallon of gasoline.

Vinegar is diluted acetic acid. It would cause terrible corrosion in fuel lines, storage tanks, and especially inside a metal engine. Are you proposing to use it to power an internal combustion engine, or something else?

First, it doesn't have the energy density of most biofuels. Second, the kind of proposals that try to use the output to fuel the input has a name. Perpetual Motion. Ain't gonna happen. Sorry.

this takes a little thought and effort...too much work in other words...why change obvious things for the better when we can do it the hard way?

Vinegar is made from alcohol. Alcohol is a much better fuel and is cheaper than vinegar.
