if theres a change in color (burning) or any change thats irreversible its a good chance that its chemical.

first, a chemical change is the one were the atomic structure is changed, so, water turning into ice is just a phisical change.
an example: FeO+CO-->Fe+CO2

ALSO: Fe3O4+CO-->3Fe0+CO2
