C(s)+O2(g)-->CO2(g) enthalpy change is -34 kilojoules
would you times 6 g of C by (1 mol of C/12 g C)= ______ mol C

_____ mol C times (-190 kJ/1 mol C)= ______kJ
is that right, if it isn't could you correct me

ok i like chemistry but im still bad at it because of a teacher who expects us to know the basics and teaches at an way too advanced level.
now the test is on bonding and i really cant draw the stuff like VSEPR theory and i hope i wrotte the acronym right
like lewis dot i never know if i've got it right and expecially drawing all the bonds.....can anyone explain to me in english so that a dumb person can understand how to draw this stuff and other things is shuld know related to bonding? i don't know this is the first thing thats so hard for me. i feel stupid already so if you're gonna stop by to make me feel even more stupid then dont...only if you have knowledge about chem that you are willing to share in an understandable manner

thanks in advance.

y study objects to the idea of treating molecular particles, such as molecules and atoms, as equal in kind to substances when discussing chemical reactions, thus confusing their different roles in the theory of matter.

The above is my abstract for this unique study, in particular. When comparing the confusion of the molecular particles with substances, it seems one would solely come to the same conclusion as I've arrived at in my abstract. What are your thoughts?

When using a fuel cell what goes in is hydrogen and oxygen right?
What comes out is water(h2o) and electricity right?
What if you could spilt the water back into hydrogen and oxygen and repeat the cycle?
You would never need more chemicals and you would keep gettting electicity?
Would this idea work?

I asked earlier about an extra credit deal at my school where we have to freeze a steel pipe with chemicals and shatter it. Thanks to all who answered my question and it seems to be liquid nitrogen is the answer. I would like to experiment first because i need the credit. So my new question is where do i buy liquid nitrogen from and how much is it?

I am a sophomore in college with an unknown major....I have been leaning towards Biology, Zoology or Conservation. I am an average student so I want to pick the one which will suit me best. I am most scared of Organic Chemistry 1 & 2 and the labs. These classes are required for all of the majors I listed. I am a committed student, but how well do you think an average student could do in these classes? Thank you
