PV = nRT The value of R depends on the units of the other factors. For P in atm and V in liters, R = 0.082

4. V = nRT/P
V = (2.44mol)(0.082)(343K)/((2.4atm) = 28.6L

5. The problem asks for grams H2, but grams H2 is not part of the equation of state. The closest thing is moles H2, which can be turned into grams H2, 1 mol H2 = 2g H2.

n = PV/RT
n = (1.95atm)(6.25L)/(0.082)(243K) = 0.611molH2
0.611molH2 x 2gH2/1molH2 = 1.22gH2

In future, if the pressure is atm and volume is mL or cc of gas, the gas constant is 82.1 to three significant figures. If the pressure is in mmHg (millimeters of mercury) and the volume is liters, R is 62.4.

Do not be discouraged by disparaging comments of others. It can be confusing when the universal gas constant is not quite constant. Be encouraged by the original Lord Kelvin, who said that one cannot understand a thing unless one can calculate it.

Ideal gas law is:

(P1V1)/T1 = (P2V2)/T2


The pressure (P) times it's volume (V) divided by it's temperature (T) will be the same at two different time intervals. i.e. This will only work if one of the variables remains constant.
