will the plant be able to keep up? This may go a little beyond what heliotropism is capable of keeping up with, but that's what I'm trying to find out.

(I'll reset it every so often, so it is not trying to rotate in a complete circle.)

Will it give up in disgust and die? Will it harm the plant? Or strengthen it?

How might these conditions affect subsequent generations of sunflowers grown continuously under them? Assuming five or six generations of sunflowers per year, seed to next seed. What changes would you expect in the plants over the course of years?

I'm particularly wondering about the effects on the stalks. How tough are the stalks, anyway? Are they woody or pulpy? Could I break them by hand? Do they secrete anything that might provoke a severe allergic reaction, like poison ivy, o.s.l.t...?

You probably get the impression I don' t know much about plants, but that's why I'm asking! No wisecracks, plase. Thanks for all serious answers.

I think that my Grandmother has the Largest Southern Magnolia tree ever. It's HUGE! So, how do I register it as the largest Southern Magnolia? Guiness World Book of Records seems to only do human submissions now but there's got to be another way to register this massive tree, right? Any ideas out there?

I have heard this term for many years. I have tried to find out the exact origin of this, but to no avail. I have seen it explained in reference to a flakiness found around a portion of the human male genitalia (which is discredited) and also in reference to a tree root fungus found in certain climates in Mongolia. Does anyone know the true (and serious-no jokes) answer to this?

I am not refering to the garden variety edelweiss or the American version of the edelweiss plant. I am specifically refering to the wild edelweiss that grows only in some parts of the Swiss Alps at an altitude of 2,000 to 2,900. The Genus and Species name is: Leontopodium alpinum. I would like to know if this plant has thorns on the stem. I don't think you can really answer this question unless you have actually been to the Swiss alps and have seen an actual flower. I spoke to several Swiss residents and most said they have never seen one in their lifetime. By thorns I do not necessarily mean thorns as in rose thorns. I was told by some Swiss people that you can get pricked if you try to touch them. They diddn't know the English word for "thorns" and I would just like to know more about this really famous and beautiful flower. I don't think they were refering to it being illegal to pick the flower because we discussed that separately. I believe they were refering to actual thorns.

What could be causing our (older) maple tree to have very few leaves? It looks dead, but the branches are still green if cut, not brittle. The leaves left over are not pretty fall colors, but ugly, brown, wilted, and shrivled.

I have several pepper plants growing and i am wondering whether it's possible to take branches from the pepper plants and graft them onto a single pepper plant. All of the peppers i want to graft are from the same genus.
