The life form with the most chromosomes is a bacterium; and plants sometimes have more chromosomes than some animals. Apes and Chimpanzees have more chromosomes than humans, Are the numbers of base pairs and the numbers of genes coded representative of the number of chromosomes? Or are there more nonsensical sequences in the lower life forms?

What is dna transformation and how does it work?

I did a lab in my class. We were supposed to transform E. coli with green flourescent protein of jelly fish.
Though I kinda get the idea. I don't really know what transformation is and how the process work.
