Some ants crawled out of a hole in my wall and were just standing there in a large group. They weren't moving, just standing there, but they have started to go back into the wall now. Does anyone have any idea what they were doing?

fatec says in his answer to another question (in the Religion and Spirituality section) that 'DNA is absolutely neccesary for ALL life, and information is ONLY produced by intelligence.'

Anyone like to try and either back this up or debunk it?

Thanks

It would seem to me that evolution would do away with sunburns. After millions of years it would seem we would be better able to defend ourselves againist this.

After watching the fight in last night's Deadwood, I couldn't help to wonder if an eyeball that was still flopping around and attached by the veiny optic nerve would still be able to function.

My question is this:

I realize that species develop skills, abilities or phyical changes in response to a need in the environment. I want to know what "tells" the genes (?) or DNA (?) that this change needs to happen in the next living being? How do the genes (?) "know" to make this change?

I want to know how our brains store memories... what are memories? Are they a chemical? Are they a physical thing? Where do they go? how does our brain find what it is looking for, and so fast?

Also, is it possible for memories or pictures in your head to be transmitted from your brain to a screen for others to see?
