It's the shortest day (UK) today, but I'm pondering on the question of which is the longest night: last night, or tonight? Does last night and today make a day, or does today and tonight make a day? If that makes sense?! Could you explain why your answer is so please? Many thanks!

I have been reading a lot about volcanoes on other planets and Olympus Mons is the most striking of all. It actually has something to do with Mars' orbit around the Sun!

When the Japanese first encounter the red hair and blue eyes(foreign sailors) they got so scare that they wonder what kind of creature it is. Today, we pretty much seen all kinds of people around the world and they are not new to us anymore. What if tomorrow we discover that there are other intelligence that we have never contact before. It is possible? What possible feature you think they might have?

I just read Yahoo's version of the meteor that may hit Mars.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071221/ap_on_sc/mars_asteroid

In the article, it says, "Scientists tracking the asteroid, currently halfway between Earth and Mars..." - Halfway between Earth and Mars? How do they know it won't hit Earth, then?

A year is the time it takes the Earth to go round the Sun. A day is the time it takes the Earth to rotate on its own axis. A month, until we began messing about with the calendar, was the time it took the Moon to go through it's phases. The week appears to have no logical definition. Was seven days pre-Genesis? Or did the bible define the week?
