GMRT is short form of Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope, located near Pune in India, is the world's largest radio telescope at metre wavelengths. It is operated by the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, a part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bombay.

GMRT is a very versatile instrument for investigating a variety of radio astrophysical problems ranging from nearby Solar system to the edge of observable Universe.-
