I stay up at night watching the history channel...maybe I shouldn't, but the science revolving the "apocolypse" occuring in just 5 short years scares me...not because Im not prepared, but because of the possibility and not knowing for sure. Its almost like being diagnosed with terminal illness and knowing you will die before you are ready, and having to plan this last few years. What do you think?? What will you do??

The Russian Znamya 2 was a 20-meter wide (flat) mirror, launched in 1992. It was
designed to test the feasibility of illuminating parts of the Earth’s surface by reflecting
sunlight from orbiting mirrors. Znamya 2 was deployed (for a few hours only) near
the space station MIR, orbiting at an altitude of
∼ 390 km.
(a) Calculate what size spot on the Earths surface was illuminated by Znamya 2.
(b) Assuming the mirror was optimally positioned so that it was
∼ perpendicular to
light from the Sun, how much solar energy did it receive per second ?

So is this what people are talking about when they say that time is NOT the fourth dimension? I believe the popular conception is that time IS the 4th dimension. But when I was in college, I heard people say it wasn't. Are there any equations that you know of that explain time? Was Hamilton onto anything?
