My opinion; not possible.

1. They would have to know if the universe started expanding from the center of maybe a circle. A straight line. (ex. roll down curtain).

2. If the universe was to "pop" then there would have to be an outer shell of some type?

3. How do scientist know for sure that the universe is the biggest,? Example. If atoms had eyes, what would the universe look like to the atoms? They probally wouldnt see it because its so freaking big. For all we know the universe could be the flick of a humungous lighter that lasts 3 seconds but so big it last 50 billion years for us. (50 billion years being an example too)

Im not canceling out the possibility that it couldnt happen. And if you would like to correct me if im wrong then feel free.

As wkevinc pointed out, this Mayan calendar supposedly predicted the alignment of the sun, moon, earth, and center of the Milky Way. The Mayans didn't have a clue about the center of the Milky Way. Sure, they could see the soft band of light across the sky, but they didn't have the foggiest notion what it was. So where did this galactic reference come from? Certainly not the Mayans.

It seems weird that the moon is just the right size to block out the sun.. does the gravitational pull of the sun on the moon make it just the right distance so that it can block the sun exactly? i dunno if u get my question lol.

Kennedy announced we were going to the moon in the 60s and it took 8 years to do it. Bush announced in 2004 that we'd be back to the moon by 2020. Why does it take so long? Russians have announced they will do it by 2025. Do you think we can get back before the Russians?

According to scientific theory the universe is forever expanding. That is until it reaches its end, when it will then collapse. Physically I wonder what this will be like, as I will probably not be around to see it.

If it were in a movie, everything would probably explode. I on the other hand think blackness would fall as everything is sucked in to nothing.

What are your theories on the subject; and what are the scientific ones if any?
