Yes, if you drink too much without replacing electrolytes in the same time period, you can die.
In the news, about a year ago (or earlier this year) a lady entered some contest where lots of water consumption was necessary over several days and she ended up dying.

yes, there are several ways. drinking contaminated water can poison you, or leave you with an infection sufficient to kill you.
drinking 7 liters of water at once will make you die from water poisoning. this is more a logistics problem in your body than anything else.

Yes. And it has happened. A young lady had obsessive compulsive syndrome and believed she could prevent cancer by constantly drinking water.
If you drink enough water over a period of time it will throw your body chemistry way off and cause death.
