My opinion; not possible.

1. They would have to know if the universe started expanding from the center of maybe a circle. A straight line. (ex. roll down curtain).

2. If the universe was to "pop" then there would have to be an outer shell of some type?

3. How do scientist know for sure that the universe is the biggest,? Example. If atoms had eyes, what would the universe look like to the atoms? They probally wouldnt see it because its so freaking big. For all we know the universe could be the flick of a humungous lighter that lasts 3 seconds but so big it last 50 billion years for us. (50 billion years being an example too)

Im not canceling out the possibility that it couldnt happen. And if you would like to correct me if im wrong then feel free.

The "Big Rip" hypothesis is no more about tearing the universe in half than the "Big Bang" is about an explosion.

It doesn't predict a separation along an axis, or some kind of "pop," or say anything about whether or not the universe is "the biggest"(whatever you mean by that).

All it states is that, if Dark Energy is real, then the cumulative accelerated Hubble expansion will eventually be more important than local gravitation, or ultimately even subatomic forces. No attractive force will be strong enough, at any scale, to hold anything together.

Long before any of that happens, you and me and everyone we know will be less than a memory.

Dark Energy is not real, it is nothing more than another device of science to try to explain an unknown phenomenon. There will be no big rip. The universe will continue to expand itself out of existence.

people know very little of our surroundings cus it hard to explore so any question or opinion on the universe can only be confirmed by what we know and new information will change opinions.
