I like the Meade ones with autostar but have no idea what the EC PE and stuff like that stand for. I want something that can see pretty damn far. I dont need to see the moon, I want to see galaxies, planets and stuff like that, if that is even possible from a personal telescope. I am looking to spend about 400.00 on ebay for one. Thanks.

Am I over thinking this question? I know that the Moon's distance from Earch is 384,400 km and has an angular diameter of about 0.5 so my inital line of thought is that if the Moon were twice as far then the arc angle would be 1 degree and if it were half as far away the arc angle would be .25 but somehow I feel I'm missing something here.

basically the space between objects is a void of nothingness apart from dense regions such as nebulae and possibly asteroid belts, but even still, unless your touching an object there is still a vacuum. what im wondering is that although the shaded space is about 280 C below zero, if there is no particles for heat to travel through, why does the coldness of space suck the heat out of the human body? what object is the heat being absorbed by? dark matter?

I understand the concept of a singularity: an infinitesimally small and dense piece of matter with zero dimension.

Let's use an example of a black hole that started as a star, then collapsed into a black hole upon burning all of its hydrogen/helium. Obviously, this object contained a large number of particles to begin with. My question is, what becomes of all the particles after it has collapsed (and theoretically continues to collapse into a smaller and smaller space forever)? Do the particles themselves continue to shrink, or does the black hole transform into pure energy?

I thought that the consensus was that nothing could be smaller than the Planck length. If this is true, then how could the black hole continue to shrink forever?

Thanks.

Are we alone in the universe? What does this form of life look like? Do they look like anything on this earth? Are they more or less advanced than we are? How come nobody knows this answer? Did God make this earth in such a fashion that we are not supposed to know how the galaxies originated, where life began, if there are other forms elsewhere, etc.?

Woke up at 4.40 and saw the brightest star I've ever seen around 30 degrees NNe. It wasn't moving - so it was either a star or a planet in a near earth orbit. And will it be there again tonight? Notice that question has already been posted - but with inconclusive answer.
