If the Sun was not present it would need a letter from it's mother otherwise it would have to do some detention.

I'm assuming that the sun simply ceases to exist. Without the sun the earth will be in complete darkness except for the stars. The earth and other planets would no longer be in orbit and would be traveling away in the direction and the speed that they were moving when the sun vanished. Same with the asteroids.
The temperature would begin to drop and continue to do so rather quickly and with few exceptions everything would die, within a weeks. The oceans would freeze over completely and within a few years slowly becoming frozen to the bottom. Life would survive indefinitely around the geothermal vents since the energy for those comes from the interior of the earth. Extremophilic bacteria in the crust would survive. The atmosphere would freeze, covering everything on the surface with ice and snow. Everything mankind had ever done would become utterly forgotten and it would be as we never existed at all.

Actually it's not a bad question. And others have wondered about it already. It is suggested that life may last billions of years longer if the Earth is flung out of the solar system. Read this

And this is how it may be flung into space.
