I know Mars moons are most likely capture asteroids, and they are spherical in shape, so why is it that the other planets moons are spherical? If it's true that the earth's moon was a broken off piece of the earth, then how come it is spherical and Mar's satellites aren't?

some people believe that the money spent on space exploration is a complete waste. other think that this spending is essential because it is a new and exciting area that can offer many benefits.

OK, I'm a bit of a numbers geek and like to research ideas. On TV, I heard this theory by a geologist (James Berkland) who claims, when there was a "new moon at perigee" that he believed there was a higher incidence of earthquakes due to the sun and moons combined gravitational pull on tectonic plates (I'm not knowlegable about astronomy). It seemed like a good theory, but it also seems too obvious, like others would have thought of that before, but I thought it would be fun to look at some data (I'm a bit of a geek).

I looked up the new moon calander and the perigee (not apogee) calander and got them in a spread sheet and found the dates where they closely matched up for 2007. But, I found no strong correlation between 2007 earhquakes and these dates. So I was wondering if there is some convenient table of lunar and solar gravitational pull and when it was the absolute strongest during the past few years (or any time frame you can point me too).

I feel that the big bang happend because of the explosion of one mighty star which has now turned into a black hole and all the galaxies are held in place by its gravitational force which scientists think as 'Dark Matter'.

So I mean to say that there is a black hole at the centre of the universe and the galaxies are revolving around it. Can this be true?

And I also feel that the big bang acted as something similar to the trigger of nuclear fission were one explosion caused the formation of many stars and galaxies which inturn explode and form new galaxies and stars. Is this correct?
