When I was a boy at summer camp, around 1971 or 1972, I saw something odd in the stars. I was observing Orion, and saw a green, star-like object pass between the first two stars of Orion's belt. The strange thing was that it appeared to make several sharp, right-angle turns! Then it vanished. Was this just a meteorite, or was it an illusion caused by "gravitational lensing," light bent around the star that may have distorted the image.

I first read the proposition in a scientific book about 15 years ago and was intrigued that there could be a value for the mass of matter in the Universe (albeit largely theoretical, unsubstantiable etc.). However I was convinced by Pumba the office techie that the proposition was false. For Pumba to be right, an infinite mass would have to be contained within an infinite space. Is this possible ?

Are the planets owned by anyone? Are they up for grabs, first come first serve. Does anyone own mineral rights? Are they governed by some treaty between all nations?

We know that the projection of two dimensional material is one dimensional and the projection of three dimensional things is two dimensional (i.e. our shadow). So, is the projection of fourth dimensional things three dimensional. Are we just a projection and nothing else?

I just got my first telescope today, and the software I got with it was pretty hard to use. I'm looking for something that will tell me how to find stars on the date, what they are, etc. Something that's easy to use and preforably low price, or free! :)

Thanks

If it takes 8 minutes for the sunlight to reach earth, then we're seeing the radiance of the sun which was reflected 8 minutes ago, or in short we are seeing the sun how it was 8 minutes ago in the sky. Does that mean that we are seeing and living in the past?

Its obvious the US is covering up UFOs, why would they do this?
Is it because they are making the UFOs (with or without the help of ETs) and moving people to a new planet to start a new world away from the crazy religious beliefs of this one.
Remember, we tried to do this when the "new world" was discovered, but you cant remove religion from government when 95% of the earth is religious. So it makes sense to keep the discovery and migration to a different planet a secret to everyone on earth... right?
