Go to wikipedia, and look for volcano

From there, you'll see lots of interesting facts AND you'll be able to tell the source.

Then you can see other pages by cliking on interesting words (blue in the text) or by typing a word like "elephant" in the search box on the left.

You can even look up NASA in Wikipedia.
There, you learn, for example, that "On December 4, 2006, NASA announced they were planning to build a permanent moon base.[9]" The little [9] in the Wiki text shows you the source they used, at the bottom of the Wiki page: A NASA press release. You can click on it to see a transcript of what the NASA people announced to the journalists.

You can even check for aliens at

Here is one that will blow you away: the moon does NOT actually revolve about the Earth! It revolves in an orbit about the sun, but the orbit is so perturbed (that's the right word) by the gravity of the Earth it seems to us to orbit the Earth. To an observer high above the solar system it would be obvious that the moon wiggles inside and outside of the orbit of the earth in it's own orbit, every month. It's not important to us as far as travel to the moon goes, however. The orbit of the moon, also, is always concave toward the sun, just as any planet's orbit is.

I do not recall the source of my information but it might have been either Isaac Asimov's Book of Facts.
