my question is do people really believe this? this is not true. speed has nothing to do with time in the event of time traveling. Time travel must be proven or why should this be accepted so much? No one has actually time traveled and never will. The whole theory began from the thought of algebraically rearranging the equation distance divided by time equals speed, to time equals going really fast. no. this is very incorrect and i am surprised no one knows this. In the equation there, you dont calculate all of time, you calculated the passing of time, so you can only change the passing of time and not ALL of time. Also, time elapses EVERYWHERE so it would be impossible to move quickly in ONE place and change time in ALL places. Rather this whole time changing idea is the effects of energy upon an object or the lack of energy upon an object which gives the result of the appearance of aging more or less....(not enough space!)

Is this just a scam?

I've seen company's advertise this for gifts. For a number of $$'s you can have a star named for someone and they send you a certificate of where that star is, etc, etc.

How does this work if many companys around the world are doing it? Who "puts dibs" on certain parts of the galaxy, so other companys don't "sell" that star?

Wow it would be cool if there was a asteroid located at one of the Lagrange points, because it would make a great platform for a space colony.

take the whole world as it is tday, take away all the people in the world ,you have wild life ,nature and industry left, now take away nature, you are left with wildlife and industry, now take away wildlife. Now you are left with land and no life!! Take away all the sea's and all the land, your left with the world. Take away the world and you are left with the universe. Take away all the stars planets and galaxies in the universe and you are left with space, My question is... Take away the space and what are you left with?? Is there anyone else who has ever thought of this?

Since today seems to be the day for asking about extraterrestrial life, I thought I'd see what everyone thought about the Drake Equation. Basically this equation allows us to predict how many "intelligent" and communicative species there are in space.
it is :

N x R* x Fp x Ne x Fl x Fi x Fc x L.

where N is the number of civilizations in our galaxy able to communicate

R* is the rate of star formation in our galaxy
Fp is the fraction of those stars with planets
Ne is average number of planets per system can support life
Fl is the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop life
Fi is the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop intelligent life
Fc is the fraction of the above that are willing and able to communicate
L is the expected lifetime of such a civilization.

Check it out , plug in your own numbers and tell me what you think is the right answer!!!
