Do they, or do they not, exist? The debate is now open.........

So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.

Why haven't we heard from them?

Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.

Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.

Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.

Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.

Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.

It is really impossible to know for sure.

The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

teh debate i slong closed:)

NOw if u have any iterest in the ufo phenomena, and
probably u do since u reading these words, it would be
the gravest mistake to draw ur own conclusions about the ufo phenomena either way until u seen this smoking gun video.

THIS video is a recording of a NATIONAL PRES CLUB EVENT, TOOK PLACE IN WASHINGTON DC, with most major media present.
Warning this video is not a fake, or a hoax, all witnesses talking on tape can be verified as the event itself.!!!!!!

Over 400 government, military, and intelligence community witnesses testifying
to their direct, personal, first hand experience with UFOs, ETs, ET technology, and the cover-up that keeps this information secret.!!

ONce again this is a must see.
If u didn`t watch this video u seen nothing yet.!!!

It's frustrating, but we can't even properly debate this subject - there is simply no evidence one way or the other.

We can only suppose. Personally, I think there's lots of life out there, whatever form it takes. But, having said that, it's not altogether impossible that we're alone. It may be that we represent the beginning of life in the universe - although I think that's unlikely.

Until we get some sort of clue that there's any other form of life out there, we can sit and debate it till the cows come home, and still not get anywhere.

You are not the only beings in space. Over the centuries, your planet was a curious place to visit once or twice and was not considered very interesting . Sure, your wars showed us how undeveloped you are as a species. Your infantile,(in cosmic terms) dependence on god concepts does not bode well for you and neither does your penchant to breed beyond your planet's ability to sustain you. We are now showing an interest in you because it is not often that we get to observe a species commit suicide. You are so close to maturing as a sentient species and it will be a shame to see you kill yourselves. There are just not enough of you becoming rational enough to force the issue. You let the least among you determine your fate, so be it.

There is not a lot to debate about. Light moves at 186,000 miles a second (Just try to imagine how fast that is) I takes 7 hours just to reach the approximate edge of our solar system so imagine how far that is. As far as we can tell no planet in our solar system can bear life at least not in any well evolved form. The nearest star or sun to our solar system is 4.5 light years away. So 4.5 years at 186,000 miles a second. You cannot prove a negative so you cannot say the some form of life has never crossed that incredible vast distance but the probability of it happening is so remote that it is not worth considering. However the universe itself contains billions of stars or suns and these will have billions of planets around them. No doubt there are planets like ours somewhere on which some form of life has developed but we are never going to meet them so it is not worth worrying about

I think that it would be terribly arrogant to believe categorically that we're alone. We've developed here so why not elsewhere in the endless expanse of opportunities that is the universe?

Not that I'm saying we'll ever know of course, the distances involved are just too immense. Star Trek and warp drive and hyperspace are pure fantasy.

Sure. The universe is an awfully big place. It seems improbable that there wouldn't be some form of life elsewhere.

Whether it's the sort of thing we could have a chat and cup of tea with, well that's another question entirely!! But I live in hope!

That depends on what you mean by "aliens" do you mean like the slimy gross things in sci fi movies or a species just like us slowly making its way up the evolutionary chart. any ways i think there has to be some other "being" in the universe if not whats the point?

Yes! Aliens are walking amongst us all the time. There could be one besides you now. How would you know. If you need real advise on how to recognise an Alien I can send you some info....

i dont know anyone who thinks we're alone. you really have to think that there are infinite numbers of galaxies, and in turn solar systems with a central star, and possibly planets like earth. or perhaps these aliens can be supported in different atmospheres. Who knows? The possibilities are endless when, relative to the universe, we know close to nothing.
