Defined a day as the time it takes the Earth to spin from one sun's zeneth (highest point in the sky) to the next.

Whilst the Earth is spinning from zenneth to zeneth it is rotating round the sun. In the period of one day the earth moves through aproximately one degree of its orbit. Draw your own conclusions.

I do want some serious answers please.

One of his claims is that the Sumerians knew and documented this planet. There are indeed depictions of what COULD be seen as 12 planets orbiting the sun accompanying their pictures of the beings known as the Anunnaki. These pictures allegedly date back in excess of 6000 years.

There is also controvertial ideas that this "12th" planet was the cause of cataclysmic occurances on Earth that almost wiped out life on this planet as it passed 'close' to us; the same major events that are documented in many of our different religious writings, perhaps?

The constructions of Stonehenge and many of the similar major prehistoric buildings world-wide that have so far been thought to have been for the purpose of monitoring the skys, were all started around the 3rd millennium, BCE, soon after the period in time that such cataclysms were thought to have occurred.
Another coincidence?

Can anyone tell me where this "12th" planet will be in it's orbit, around the year 2012?

Some people are saying that Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.

This will culminate on Aug.27th when Mars comes within 34.650M miles of Earth. They claim that we will be able to see it in the sky on Aug. 27 at 12:30 am. It will look like The Earth has 2 Moons. Furthermore, that the next time Mars may come this much close is 2287? How true is this? Can we see Mars everynight if the sky is clear?

I know we had a "race to the moon" against the Soviet Union, and I've seen the photos of the US flag on the moon, so my question is, is the moon US territory? Like explorers from the 1500s that conquered lands for their country in the new world, did we do that with the moon?

This week sees the International Astronomical Societies gathering to discuss, amongst other things the definition of a Planet.

For Centuries, the definition has stood that it is a Celestial body in
orbit around a star, which is held by that stars Gravity. It also has
to be above a certain size, and a certain mass.

This definition has stood since the time there was 5 Planets (7 was an important number in ancient times, they counted the Sun and moon). Then along Came a dude called William Herschel who found Uranus, and then Neptune and Pluto were discovered. Then in 2005, Xena was added, and now we have planets breeding like Maggots.

This gathering this week could see that whole definition change. Pluto could loose its planetry Status, or it could be joined by Charron, Xena, and a menagerie of others in the Kuiper belt.

So, 2 questions:
What do YOU think makes a planet?
What is your opinion on the outer candidates?

No time limit for your thoughts?
