The solar calendar used by most western countries is based on the orbit of the Earth around the Sun. The islamic calendar is based on the 12 orbits of the Moon around the Earth, and differs from the solar calendar by about 11 days.

The following calculator is sometimes used to find corresponding dates.

Not really. The Islamic calendar is lunar and has to add extra days periodically to put things back in adjustment.
