I don't know too much about astronomy, but I know it can be seen with the naked eye, and actually looks visibly red.

on the 27th of august 2006 at 12 midnite u can see mars if u want to see it all year round get yourself a telescope any cheap one will do as mars is pretty close to earth ...

I got the email talking about Mars being as big as the moon in late august... It's a sham... check it out as an urban legend... If it were going to happen it would already be noticable.

On August 27th(Sunday) around 12:30am CST , it is supposed to be rising from the East and reveal itself close to the moon.

It is normally seen in the western sky. Look for a bright planet with reddish tinge. You can not miss it
Think of me when u spot it.
